Properties:White crystal or crystalline powder. Smell-less, melting point: ~245℃(decompound). No optical rotation. The chemical properties are stable. Soluble in water(20.1g/100ml,25℃), the aqueous solution has sweet taste and it is tasty and refreshing. Hard to dissolve in methanol, ethanol(0.07g/100ml,25℃), acetone, etc.
DL-Threonine's physiological effectiveness is one-half of the L-Threonine. When it is deficient may cause inappetence, fatty liver, etc symptoms.
