Properties: white crystal or crystalline powder, soluble in water, insoluble in methanol, ethanol, ether, benzene, acetone, chloroform and ethyl alcohol, odorless, slightly sweet. It is not stable in neutral solution, and can be easily decomposed into glutamine or propyl ester to pyrrolic carboxyl alcohol in alcohol, alkali or hot water. It is odorless and slightly sweet.
Uses: Nutritional supplement, flavoring and fragrance enhancer.
